Review: MAC Brulee, Satin Taupe, Sketch and Ricepaper Eye Shadows

$14.50 USD each

I'm pretty new to MAC products and I was a little skeptical about buying Sketch eyeshadow.  My first MAC purchase was Satin Taupe and Brulee eye shadows.  Many people love Satin Taupe and say its MAC's best eyeshadow.  I have to strongly disagree with this.  I bought Satin Taupe and don't care for it at all.  I have tried wearing it many different ways and just cant get it to work for me.  I used Urban Decay Primer Potion and MAC Painterly paintpot as a primer ( I have very oily eyelids) and Satin Taupe always creases on me.   This isn't a bash on Satin Taupe but due to my experience with it I was a little hesitant to buy another MAC eyeshadow.

I have wanted Sketch since I first saw it but just never got around to buying it.  Well I finally did and I don't know why I waited so long.  I love it!! It isnt to bright and has just the right amount of depth.  It can be worn to look more neutral and it can also be dramatic.  It creases on me as well but I love the color so I will deal with it. It has great texture and isn't hard to blend.

I purchased Ricepaper out of impulse.  I never had a huge desire to buy Ricepaper but after swatching it at the MAC counter I couldn't resist.  It has a great texture and is a great addition.  I like to pair it with Sketch but it can be used for a more retro pinup look as well to give your eyes a little shimmer shimmer.

These two purchases have renewed my faith in MAC eye shadows. YAY!
